General Admission Requirements
Admission procedures are governed by Section 58 (1) to (11) of Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education and on changes and amendments of some acts, as amended (hereinafter as the "Act"). The full wording of Section 58 of the Act is as follows:
(1) The admission procedure is a process that allows an applicant who has proven fulfilment of set requirements for admission to study to become a student of a selected study programme at the selected university. The applicant who fails to prove fulfilment of the basic requirements for admission to study at the time of assessment of admission requirements can be conditionally admitted for study, with the condition that he/she is obliged to prove fulfilment of basic admission requirements no later than the day set for enrolment of study.
(2) The admission procedure begins for the applicant with delivery of his/her written application for study to the university or faculty where the respective study programme is organised. The university can allow that instead of a written application also electronic application without a certified electronic signature can be submitted via an information system that allows the applicant to verify the registration of application in the information system from the day of submission to the final day of the admission procedure.
(3) The applicant shall provide the following information in the application:
a) pursuant to Section 73 (3),
b) information about previous or actual employment,
c) information about obtained education, including grades and results from extra-curricular activities related to the study programme he/she is applying for.
(4) The university is authorized to process 38a) the information shown in paragraph 3 for the purposes of the admission procedure and enrolment and provide them to other entities and natural persons for statistical purposes.
(5) The applicant shall enclose necessary documents required by the university pursuant to Section 57 (1) and the application pursuant to Section 57 (4). The university is allowed to process personal data, pursuant to specific regulation 40), shown in documents and the application, apart from data shown in paragraph 3, only with prior permission of the person in question, which is an inseparable part of the application. Section 73 (6) and Section 73a (12) shall apply to processing of the personal data of the applicant, shown in paragraph 3 and this paragraph.
(6) The dean decides on the admission to study in the study programme carried out at the faculty. The rector decides on the admission to study in the study programme carried out at the university.
(7) The decision on the result of admission procedure shall be issued in writing within 30 days after verification of meeting the admission requirements. It shall contain the verdict, the grounds and advice about the possibility to submit a request to examine the decision. It shall be delivered to the applicant as a personal delivery. The applicant whose place of residence is unknown will be delivered by publishing the decision on the bulletin board of the university or the faculty for 15 days. The last day of this period shall be considered the delivery day.
(8) The applicant can submit a request to examine the decision on admission procedure. The application shall be filed with the body that issued the decision within eight days from its delivery. If the dean is such a body, he/she can accept such a request if he/she determines that the given decision was issued contrary to law, internal regulation of the university or faculty, or requirements stipulated according to Section 57 (1). Otherwise, he/she shall forward the request to the rector. The rector shall change the decision if it was issued contrary to law, internal regulation of the university or faculty or requirements stipulated according to S 57 (1). Otherwise, he/she shall reject the request and confirm the original decision. If a decision on non-admission was issued by the rector, he/she can accept such a request if he/she determines that the given decision was issued contrary to law, internal regulation of university, or requirements stipulated pursuant to Section 57 (1). Otherwise, he/she shall forward the request to the Academic senate of the university. The Academic senate of the university shall change the decision if it was issued contrary to law, internal regulation of the university or faculty, or requirements stipulated pursuant to Section 57 (1). Otherwise, he/she shall reject the request and confirm the original decision. The answer to the person who requested the examination must be sent within 30 days from the delivery of the request for examination of decision on non-admission to the university or faculty.
(9) The university or faculty is authorized to request the information from admitted applicants whether or not they will enrol. The applicant is obliged to provide such information to the university or faculty upon the commencement of the academic year (Section 61). Should the applicant fail to show interest in studies or provide information within the given period, his/her right to enrol for study in the given study programme shall expire and the university or faculty shall cancel the decision by which the applicant next in line according to the admission procedure results was not admitted and issue a new decision on admission of such to the previously unsuccessful applicant.
(10) Apart from the provisions of this section, also provisions of Section 54 (5) to (7) shall apply to the admission procedure for PhD study.
(11) An applicant who received a decision on non-admission to study has a right to request to consult documentation of his/her admission procedure.

The admission procedure for all study programmes, apart from Psychology, is organised in the form of selection on the basis of secondary school study results. The admission procedure for the study programme of Psychology is organised in the form of a written test, containing questions from these areas: prerequisites for study (level of development of cognitive abilities that are applied in solving logical, verbal, and ethical tasks and problems), and secondary school level of knowledge from the following subjects: psychology, biology, foreign language (choice of English or German).
Master's Study Programmes (Mgr.):
History of Art, Ethics, Philosophy, History, Classical Archaeology, Classical languages, Political sciences, Psychology
Applications of graduates from the same or a related bachelor's study programme are accepted. The admission procedure for all study programmes, apart from Psychology, is organised in the form of selection on the basis of bachelor's study results. Only graduates from the single-field bachelor's study of Psychology can apply for study in the master's programme of psychology. The admission procedure is organised in the form of a written test – an overview of basic knowledge acquired during the bachelor's study of psychology.
PhD Study Programmes (PhD.):
History and Theory of Fine Art, Ethics and Moral Philosophy, Systematic Philosophy, Slovak History, Classical Archaeology, Social Psychology
The selection procedure is based on present study results, a special exam and special interview about the submitted topic of dissertation thesis, and taking the achieved results of the applicant’s present education into account. Applications from graduates of the given study programme or related study programme are accepted. The admission committee decides on accepting the application.

Information about Admission Exam and Admission Procedure
Depending on the amount of assigned funds and the fulfilment of basic and other requirements for admission to study, the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts of Trnava University in Trnava (hereinafter only "TU") plans to admit in the academic year 2013/2014 approx. 300 students for the bachelor's study, and approx. 200 students for master's study.
The appropriate type of application (Bc., Mgr., PhD.) must be used.
The basic admission requirement for the bachelor's study (the Bc. degree) is successful completion of secondary school education or secondary vocational education. The basic admission requirement for master's study (the Mgr. degree) is successful completion of bachelor's study. The basic admission requirement for PhD study (the PhD degree) is successful completion of a second university degree.
Admission requirements for foreigners, foreign students, or students who completed secondary school education abroad are the same as for students who completed a given degree of study in the Slovak Republic and are Slovak citizens.
The Faculty of Philosophy and Arts reserves its right to change and amend, as needed, in the interest of improving the admission procedure, in compliance with S 57 (5) of the Act no. 131/2007 Coll., on universities, as amended.
Applicants must submit the completed application to the Faculty's address: Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, Trnava University in Trnava, Hornopotočná 23, 918 43, Trnava Applicants, who have completed a lower degree of study before the academic year 2012/2013, shall submit the application and verified copies of school certificates (vysvedčenie, for bachelor's study the certificates from 1st - 4th or 5th year of secondary school + school-leaving certificate, maturitné vysvedčenie); for master's study they shall submit their school certificate and bachelor's study diploma; and for PhD study applicants shall submit their certificate and diploma from their 2nd university degree. Applicants, who are finishing their lower degree of study in 2013, shall submit the application confirmed by the school. Applicants taking the admission exam shall present officially verified documents (certificate from the 4th year of secondary school together with a verified school-leaving certificate or diploma and certificates from bachelor's study or certificate and diploma from 2nd degree of university study) personally at the roll call on admission exam day.
Applicants admitted on the basis of selection procedure shall submit within two days from completing their school-leaving exam or state exam the officially verified copies of their certificates (for bachelor's study the certificate from the last year of secondary school and the school-leaving certificate; for master's study the certificates from the state bachelor's exams; and for PhD study the certificates from the state master's exams, or their equivalent).
The faculty does not require a certificate of the applicant's health. In cases where a disability needs to be taken into account in the course of admission exam, the applicant will attach a certificate of disability and recommended form of examination.
Applicants can submit to the faculty more than one application. For each study programme a new application must be submitted, and the fee of EUR 38 or EUR 30 must be paid. Those who apply for PhD study and are interested in both modes of study should apply with two applications with just one fee.
Applicants who graduated from a lower degree of study abroad shall submit their validated education documents in accordance with provisions of Decree no. 207/1993 Coll. The receipt for admission procedure fee payment (in the amount of EUR 38) should be attached to the 3rd page of the application. The fee is non refundable in case of failure to attend the admission procedure.

Admission Requirements
Bachelor's study programme - the admission requirement is the successful completion of secondary school education or a secondary vocational education and a selection procedure based on the results from secondary school. The faculty will send to the applicant detailed information for submission of documents to the selection procedure no later than one month prior to the admission procedure.
The selection procedure will take place from June 10, 2013 to June 17, 2013.
Master's study programme - the admission requirement is the successful completion of an accredited bachelor's study programme in the respective field of study. The applicant shall submit a verified copy of their bachelor's diploma, certificate and diploma supplement by July 12, 2013.
PhD study programme - the admission requirement is the successful completion of a 2nd degree study programme in the following fields of study: Laboratory Investigation Methods in Health Services, Nursing, Social Work, Public Health Services, or another related field of study, and successful completion of the admission interviews.

Admission requirements: Bachelor's study – the basic requirement is the successful completion of secondary school education, with a school-leaving certificate, and successful completion of the admission interviews. Master's study – the basic requirement is the successful completion of a bachelor's education in the respective field of study, and successful completion of the admission interviews. PhD study – the basic requirement is the successful completion of a master's education in the respective or a related field of study, and successful completion of the admission interviews.
The faculty reserves the right not to open a study programme in a case where there are an insufficient number of applicants. Conditions for domestic students apply to foreign students as well. The following needs to be attached to the application (for bachelor's / master's study): an original or verified copy of your birth certificate; a baptism certificate with a record of confirmation; the applicant's marriage certificate, if a change of surname occurred; a recommendation from a priest (or the order superior in the case of a monk); copies of certificates from the 1st - 4th secondary school years; a verified copy of your school-leaving certificate, in the case of a prior university education, also a verified copy of your diploma; a resume; health certificate; and confirmation of payment of the admission procedure fee.
The following needs to be attached to the PhD study application: a resume; a verified copy of your birth certificate; verified copies of documents about the highest achieved education, in the case of a foreign university diploma, also its validation; in the case of another language and professional knowledge, also a verified certificate; a list of published articles or list of other professional activities, including reviews of such works and activities; in the case of theology study, the certificate on knowledge of biblical languages; in the case of clerics, the approval of your Ordinary, in the case of a monk, the approval of a higher superior; and a preliminary layout of his/her chosen topic of dissertation thesis or licentiate thesis.

The application must contain confirmation of payment of the admission procedure fee, verified copies of annual certificates and the school-leaving certificate, and the applicant's resume. Applicants taking the school-leaving exam in 2012/2013 must have his/her results from the 1st to 3rd years confirmed in the application by their secondary school. The applicant is obliged to submit their 4th year certificate and the school-leaving certificate by June 15, 2013.

Admission Requirements
Bachelor's study programme -the admission requirement is the successful completion of a secondary school education or secondary vocational education, and the successful completion of the admission exam. The applicant must present a verified copy of their school-leaving certificate on the day of the admission exam. The faculty will send to the applicant detailed information on the admission procedure no later than one month prior to the admission procedure.
The admission examination will take place between June 10 and June 12, 2013.
Master's study programme - the admission requirement is the successful completion of an accredited bachelor's study programme in the field of Law. The applicant must submit a verified copy of their bachelor's diploma by July 15, 2013.
PhD study programme - the admission requirement is the successful completion of an accredited master's study programme in the field of Law and successful completion of the admission exam in which the admission committee inquires about the applicant's preparedness for the given PhD study programme.
